SINTEF Building and Infrastructure does not perform fire testing of products. In Norway such testing is done by SP Fire Research AS.
SP Fire Research AS is performing fire testing and issues product documentation for fireplaces, chimneys and other fire related products. SP Fire Research AS was previously a part of the SINTEF group under the name SINTEF NBL.
The change of name to SP Fire Research AS was made early in 2014, when SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden became the majority shareholder with 70 % of the shares, while SINTEF now has 30 % of the shares.

SINTEF Building and Infrastructure issues product documentation for windows and doors with a classified fire resistance, products for fire sealing of penetrations in fire classified building structures, panels and rendering systems for fire protection of structures and building elements etc.
SINTEF Building and Infrastructure performs fire technical assessments as a part of SINTEF Technical Approvals, where the documented product is required to have documented fire properties.
